If you’ve felt an unexplained disturbance in the automotive force recently, it can probably be attributed to the scheduled arrival of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage on American shores. We’ve been lusting after this thing since it first cropped up as concept way back in 2007, and now the ridiculously wealth or the fantastically in debt can finally get their paws on the car here in the U.S. The recipe is simple – take the brawny, 510 horsepower 6.0-liter V12 from the DBS, cram it into the engine bay of the lithe Vantage, add louvers and call it a day. Sorta.

Aston Martin has taken it upon itself to prime the collective American pump for the V12 Vantage debut by releasing a quick teaser video. It’s dipped in sweet, slow-motion glory shots of the car doing what it does best – sending tires to their smoky grave and conning otherworldly speed out of seemingly plebian strips of asphalt. There are even a few shots of the race-derived version loftily beating its way around the Nurburgring. We’re in love. Hit the jump to see it for yourself.

Aston Martin has finally put a U.S.-approved sticker onto the V12 Vantage, and if you’re aching to get into the 510 horsepower coupe, you’ll need to set aside $179,995 for the “base” model.

Included in the kit is the DB9-sourced V12 powerplant putting out the aforementioned 510 ponies and 420 pound-feet of torque, capable of scooting the svelte coupe to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 190 mph.

If the standard V12 Vantage is just too plebeian for your tastes, you can option up for the Carbon Black Edition – an exclusive trim for the States – which includes black metallic paint, carbon fiber accents, a reworked grille, 10-spoke black wheels and a host of interior appointments.

Pricing for the Carbon Black model comes in at a cool $194,995 (undercutting both the DB9 and DBS), and both prices include the $3,000 gas guzzler tax and $1,350 destination charge. If that’s too rich for your blood, just enjoy the high-res pics in the gallery below.

Aston Martin has finally answering your prayers… assuming that you, like us, have been offering up daily supplications asking that the crew from Graydon to send over its V12 Vantage to those of us living in the good ol’ United States of America.

Specs? Here goes: 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 510 horsepower, and 420 pound-feet of torque with a top speed of 190 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds. Not bad. But Aston is also claiming that its newly muscled Vantage is also “our most agile model with our most powerful engine,” adding that it “represents the definitive Aston Martin driving experience.”

According to the automaker, some subtle changes were necessary to the structure of the car in order for it to meet North and South American regulations. In addition to these enhancements, Aston has also announced that it will be adding a new Carbon Black version of the V12 Vantage exclusively for the American market.

Included in the dark and sinister makeover will be “a bespoke Carbon Black metallic paint with a subtle metallic twist to create a deep rich patina; painstakingly created through a hand painting process taking 50 man hours.” Further, the side strake will be fashioned from carbon fiber, wheels will be gloss black 10-spoke diamond-turned alloys and a bright finished grille will be featured up front.

Inside, you’ll see plenty of Obsidian Black leather highlighted with contrasting hand stitching in silver. Piano black interior trim will join black tread plates and unique sill plaques, and a 700w Premium Audio System will be standard equipment. Ordering begins right about now and initial deliveries are slated for fourth quarter of 2010. Want to know more? Check out our high-res image gallery below and then hit the jump for the press release.

Spy Shots: Aston Martin planning more Vantage upgrades?

With Aston Martin busy releasing the Rapide, preparing the Cygnet city car, running the One-77 flat out, gearing up for a fresh assault on Le Mans and toying again with the whole Lagonda project, it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Vantage.

The entry-level model in Aston’s range received some upgrades for the 2010 model year, including updated lights, sills, wheels, stereo and a cut to its carbon emissions. Now a crop of spy shots has been circling the intertubes showing another Vantage undergoing cold-weather testing.

Sources can’t pinpoint whether this is a V8 or V12 model. Judging by the lack of louvres on the hood, installed on the V12 Vantage to keep the big engine breathing in such a tight space, our money’s on the slant eight. If that’s the case, the V8 Vantage could be getting the diffuser from the V12 model. The rear lip spoiler has also grown, but it’s hard to tell much more than that.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage “Carbon Black” – click above for high-res image gallery

As if your average, run-of-the-mill Aston Martin wasn’t special enough, the folks that regularly rifle around in 007’s garage have now put together a pair of limited editions of their DBS and V12 Vantage sports coupes. As you might guess by the Carbon Black name, the special versions have decidedly noir paint schemes. The metallic black finish is formulated to flip around depending on how the light hits it, giving a different look at different times. Applying the new finish will require 50 hours of handwork per car, and as you might expect, those labor rates don’t come cheap. Oh, and on the Vantage, the strake in the fender vent is also fabricated out of carbon fiber for an extra special touch.

The midnight theme continues on the inside, where the cabon-fiber-and-Kevlar seats are covered in Obsidian black leather with silver stitching. Other model-specific items include anodized black tread plates, “carbon themed” door sill garnishes, and the dashboard and center console trims are finished in piano black. Given the number of border-line econoboxes using piano black these days, we think it might have been nice for Aston to have considered something different for that last element. If this bothers you, no doubt Aston would do something more unique for a “nominal” fee. It’s not all pure appearance however – the new chairs save 37 pounds.

Aston Martin dealers are taking orders now, but the final price won’t be set until early 2010. Aston also hasn’t said how limited these editions will be, so you might want to hurry and get your deposit in.
